Westwood Electric Awards Scholarship

Posted on December 7, 2017 News & Updates

The last few months have been very exciting as we continue to engage with Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan. Working closely with the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI), an organization that helps meet the educational and cultural needs of the Saskatchewan Métis community, we have committed to an academic scholarship. This scholarship is for students in the electrical field, specifically Electrical Engineering and Electrical Technology, and we are honoured to participate in a scholarship program that recognizes the leadership, academic achievement and community involvement of local Métis students.

We are pleased to announce, in November 2017, Matthew Kindt was named this year’s Westwood Electric Scholarship recipient. Matthew was born and raised in Saskatoon and aspires to earn his Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation as an electrical engineer. He is currently in his 4th year of education and plans to join the Saskatchewan industrial work force soon. Outside of his studies and work, Matthew has a passion for hunting, fishing, hiking and skiing.

From all of us at Westwood Electric, congratulations Matthew Kindt and all the best in your future endeavors!
